Hepatitis A and B (Adult) Vaccination

Hepatitis A and B are viral infections that affect the liver and are common in many parts of the world. Combined vaccination is recommended for travellers at risk of exposure through food, water, or medical procedures. Full protection requires a course of three doses over six months.

Side effects: The vaccine may cause mild side effects such as soreness at the injection site, tiredness, headache, or mild fever.

Additional precautions: Practise good hygiene and be cautious with food, water, and blood exposure while travelling. Hepatitis B can also be spread through sexual contact or medical procedures abroad.

Risks caused by hepatitis A and B:

  • Hepatitis A is a viral liver infection spread through contaminated food and water, causing fever, fatigue, and jaundice.
  • Hepatitis B is spread through blood and bodily fluids and can lead to chronic liver disease or liver damage if untreated.
